A Little Bit About Me…

Hello! I’m Jenn and welcome to my site.

Let me ask you…if today was your last day, would you be satisfied with how you lived your life? Did you accomplish everything you thought you would? If not, what else do you want to do? Did you say everything you wanted to say to those you love? Any regrets?

These are just a few of the thought provoking questions that I’ve asked myself recently. As I navigate this thing called “mid-life” (God…the thought that I’ve actually hit this milestone makes me cringe), I feel accomplished & proud of the work I’ve done as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse. I have cared for some pretty incredible tiny humans and their families…it never ceases to amaze me just how strong & resilient these sweet little souls can be. Caring for these sweet little babies takes a multitude of highly skilled professionals that reaches far beyond doctors & nurses…and I have to say, I have the privilege of working with the best! I love being a NICU nurse, but to be honest, being a nurse during the pandemic has been nothing short of exhausting. It has completely solidified my motto…”I don’t want to go from working in a hospital to being in a hospital!” As much as I love my babies, the thought of exploring new adventures in my retirement while I’m still young enough to enjoy them is becoming more important with each passing day.

For the most part, I live a fairly quiet, simple life with my partner of more than 30 years and our adorable little dog. We own a house in the city and during the summer months, we love to spend as much time as possible at our little place up North nestled on the shores of a beautiful lake. There is not much that I enjoy more than jumping in my kayak and heading out for hours on end (with my camera at the ready) to explore not only our lake, but also the many gorgeous lakes nearby. We absolutely love our little community of friends up North…we all look out for each other, and we have a blast!

The pages of this blog are filled with stories and photographs of my life and my adventures…the places, the people, the wildlife…stories that not only bring me joy and peace, but also challenges. Life is not always sunshine & roses. We all go through tough times and challenges, so I will include mine in this blog and show how I have, and will, come out the other side of them stronger and more empowered than ever before.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by my site. I would love to hear what you think, so feel free to drop me a line and say hello!
